Little Buggers

Ever notice that as soon as the weather starts getting cold, all sorts of little buggers think that you have posted a "welcome sign" on your door that gives them license to come enjoy the warmth of your heated house?

Couldn't get a photo of this little bugger, but here's the evidence that a mosquito has invited herself into my house. Actually, in the past few weeks, I've seen about 3 mosquitoes in my house. Just when you think summer is over...

And what about THIS guy? I don't ever remember inviting HIM in!

TWO of these little buggers have squeezed their way in during the past few weeks. Thank goodness for this highly proficient trap! If you ever have a mouse problem, you HAVE to try this kind of trap. I've never found this trap tripped indicating that a mouse had been there, had his fill, and gotten away. It's either set and waiting for it's next victim, or has snapped on the head of some darling little mouse. It's so easy to empty too!

And what do we use as bait? Everyone together now... (and if you don't know the answer to this, you don't know our dad) peanut butter and raisins!

Here's another little bugger that likes to come inside when it's cold outside. And she's smart enough to sleep in the sunshine!

This little bugger, however, could care less if it's cold outside. She LOVES to be outside. She doesn't care if it's raining, snowing, whatever. She often sleeps outside...even in the rain and snow.

Visitors

Look who came to see Grays this weekend! Of course, no one came to see me, only my new puppy (waa waa.) She's the big hit these days. And don't let the grin on Sophie's face decieve you. She's happy about the Cheerio I'm holding in my hand...NOT the fact that Grays is getting all this attention!

Kathy was here for the weekend and Isabelle came for a sleepover one night. Sophie thinks Isabelle is the "Cheerio Girl" now because she seems to be a never-ending source of the yummy little o's.

Isabelle made up a new game where she puts Cheerios on Sophie's back and then Sophie tries to figure out how to get them off. That was great sport!

Isabelle helped with Grays' first bath ever!

I have a sneaking suspicion that Isabelle kinda likes Grays. What do you think? I'm afraid she's going to start working her mom and dad over to get her a puppy. Nichole is pretty smart though. She knows that this girl will be going off to college in 10 years...and THEN whose dog will it be???

Jumping Off

Here goes! My first stab at a blog. The biggest news at our house is the addition of our little "rascal". How could you NOT love this face???Grays, our new puppy, is so busy! Her latest trick is to grab the edge of the water bowl and run willy-nilly with it through the house, water sloshing out everywhere. Never mind that the dish is full of about 3 cups of water!

She's a quick learner. She figured out how to use the dog door on her own before she'd been here for 24 hours. At first she kind of flopped through the door. But now she does a little hop to get through. She's catching on to the house training as well. She hasn't had an "oops" in the house yet today and we're coming on 8:30 pm (knock on wood.) And that's taking into account that I was gone to a training today for 8 hours! The training was about digital cameras. Wahoo! Now I know how to take better pictures of my dogs.
